If that overly pixellated frame doesn't go, I'll end my life using a solid-wood stool.

I can't say I feel quite that strongly about the frame, but I do think this would be a much nicer shot without it. Is this the same beach as the "lovers" pic you posted a couple days ago? The light is much softer and it makes the shot look a bit cooler. I do still like the detail in the rocks, though. My vote definitely goes to losing the frame .

You just saved my life. How I'm going to repay you? Although... If I used a plastic stool I would have suffered much more, since getting the task done would require a significant amount of work.

Anyway, to express an opinion I cropped down the photo a little. Tell me, windrider, what you think.

aadam: being so visceral is part of the joke (stupid, I recognize, yes)

I like the smaller version fo the beach, but, the reason i didnt crop it more is the new lack of clarity in he rocks in the background. Everything is always a darn trade off.
I'm so glad i saved your life tho. My life's mission is now fufilled!

I like it a lot better without the frame.

If I were to crop it, I think I would crop a bit of the blank, dark foreground beach out. That would keep the rocks and would tend to draw the viewer's eyes more toward the beautiful colors in the sky.

One thing I've read in various photography books is that you usually don't want the horizon dead center. Offsetting it to a third of the way from the bottom or top can give a much better composition as the viewer's eye will get drawn across the scene better. Don't know if that works for you or not, but I have been finding it true of some of my past landscape shots where I centered the horizon line.
