Default Llanddwyn Beach

Llanddwyn Beach is truly spectacular when it comes to opportunities for breathtaking sea views and healthy walking activities.

You can walk for about 3 miles (5 km) from Llanddwyn Island to the south west tip of Anglesey, called Abermenai Point. Alternatively, you can go west from where the island joins the beach and enjoy the sandy stretch leading to the Cefni Estuary.

Up at 0430, SSS, on the road by 0500, arrive the beach at 0615.

I got so involved in taking pics I did not notice the tide had come in behind me trapping me on the Island. Had to be back in town by 1300 so ended up wadding through 3 ft of freezing Irish Sea, think m b_lls were in my throat to get away from the cold, but all in all a good morning.

Great photos, but they all look a little noisy. Maybe you sshould tune down the ISO and use a tripod for longer exposures?

These were at 320ASA, not a big user of tripods but maybe next time I go will take my lightweight. Ian

Actually this larger version show very little noise...

Default Hmm...

Perhaps my eyes were just playing tricks on me. The larger photo does still lack a strong sense of sharpness that I would expect from this shot. It's like it is a little blurry perhaps from handshaking or the wrong aperture. I do like the color and composition.

while they're nice shots, i agree, a tripod would have made them so much better. not sure why you're not a fan of tripods, but if you plan on taking pictures like this and would like to print them out, i would strongly suggest investing in a tripod. it's useful in more situations than you may think.

I have tripods both lightweight and heavy, just have never got into the habit or maybe just getting to old to carry the extra weight. I do use occassionally.

You can get some pretty lightweight tripods, you could even use a monopod if you really are worried about weight. You really must use a tripod for landscape photography, as most of the time - with shots like these you will be using a slow shutter speed, so hand held is just asking for trouble.

Nice composition
