Not sure if this is the proper section or not. It didn't seem to be right for the critique section. Mods...feel free to move or do whatever is correct.
I took this photo along Lake Superior back in May and have had a request to purchase a print. I had a 12x18 print made to see how it looked framed. The print turned out great and I will sell it to the party involved. I am now considering offering it for sale with my other prints. I would like to know if you think it's worth offering or if it isn't quite there and the one buyer was just a fluke. I value the opinions on this site. I've attached a poll as well. Thank you! ![]() Pentax K20D, DA 16-45mm ISO 100, 1/10, f/10

Sure, I'd certainly offer that for sale. It's well composed, has some interesting foreground details, and it's also a photo of my favorite lake.
(Don't underestimate that -- people love photos of "their" area, or their favorite vacation spot, or anything like that -- even if there's nothing to indicate that that's the location you were in.)

I wouldn't buy it purely for photographic reasons. Its quite empty without being tranquil and relaxing, the movement in the water (or lack of it) is not quite as good as other similar photos I have seen. Without wanting to sound too harsh I see it as "just another sunset" it well captured and a good photo but nothing special.
However if I knew the location I may feel different so I may try to sell it locally. |

It's good enough to sell.

Thanks for all the comments folks! I don't think I have a confidence problem...I have a problem gauging what people's reactions to my photo work will be as I'm not a professional at this...it's a lifelong hobby thing. That's why I like this site...good and honest feedback.
I agree with Fletch's comment about it being rather ordinary, especially considering what's out there. That's one of the reasons I posted it...to see reactions. I will probably offer it for sale but limit it to my "north shore" collection rather than my "sunset" collection. That will fit it into a more specific category. If you still want to leave a poll response or a comment, please feel free to do so!
