I am a beginner when it comes to taking pics,

Well, here are my views:
1. Framing: lot of space on left, right improperly cut....(right flwr petal...).
2. Which one is your subject, the bud or the flower. The bud also steels the show here...!
3. May be a slight change in the angle would have helped.....
4. I liked the depth

Default nice shot

I love yellow flowers. But If I should say anything, the background looks a little too blurry for my taste. As mentioned here before, I would also cut the picture different, I think as the flower on the right points to the right, I would have cut the left of the picture, and left some space to the right of the flowers instead (or shoot the picture different). But only my opinion, I am only a beginner

I would have moved around to the right a little more which might have lessened the impact of the bud by showing space between it and the blossom; I would also have moved a little closer and lower. Do try not to clip the edge of the frame as you have with the right hand petal. You seem to have captured some nice detail and the blurring (bokeh) helps the subject to pop out.
