Default Shot in Washington, DC?

My wife and I are leaving April 4 for 8 wonderful days in the DC area. I need to know what you liked, didn't like, and any obstacles in shooting during your stay.

Thanks,

Might be too late for you since I just saw this and it also happens to be the day you are leaving.
Great shots in both directions can be taken from the mall area standing right in front of the Museum of Natural History. Dont forget to focus on the people, the vendor stands, maybe some performers, and there is an old merry go round set up for the kids that is always a nice view.
Old buildings are not hard to find. Many of the churches in the DC area are a great monument to the hard work and dedication of those that built them 200 years ago.

Make your way to the cherry blossoms, from there you can take a nice walk/bike ride along the C&O canal. Try to make it up to Great Falls for some really incredible water shots.

Time exposures can turn out really interesting from inside the Metro tunnels, try some pictures of the trains coming toward you, and some of them going away.

Be careful of taking shots of people, for some reason people in the DC area think you are up to something and it can become an unpleasant experience if you happen to focus on the wrong person. Try to catch people that just happen to be in the way of what you are trying to take.

Above all, keep your equipment close by, and have a great time. DC can be a wonderful place to visit.

P.S. I have lived in this area since 1958.
