Looks like we might be in for a pretty good show tonight here in Arizona due to the Quadrantid Meteor Shower. Not being a native (to either Arizona or Photography
), I have a couple of questions:1. Where would be a good viewing place in or around the Phoenix area? 2. Any suggestions/tips on capturing images of the night sky and meteor display? I will probably try to pick up an ML-L3 remote to aid in steady exposures. Does the use of the remote allow for exposures longer than 30 seconds? Thanks in Advance! ~D~

Try this http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tu...s/meteor.shtml
I've used the tips there before with decent results. Poor viewing and weather here on the east coast for this one or else I would be out shooting it as well

Thank you for the input. I did go out and attempt to get some photo's. My camera does have 'Bulb' mode, so I was able to take some long exposures. The real problem was focus, and really not having the right lens for the job. That link has some very good info that I will keep in mind for my next opportunity. All in all, a valuable learning experience.
Thanks again!
