Default Old Farm House near me

This is an old farm home near me. There are many old barns, buildings and homes I plan to photograph and put together. I thought I would share these.

Hi, lovely shot. I see it with a tinge of sadness for the 'old days.' In a way that is what you will be documenting. It will be a very valuable set of photos, as well as being artistic pieces in their own right.

Nice shoot.
If you don't mind, i have made some enhancements to your shot, making more contrast.

Thank you. I'm new at this and don't have photoshop so I use what I have right now through Picasa and Flickr. What did you use to enhance the contrast?

I am using Aperture with my MacBook Pro. I just increase a contrast, adjusted filters (red, yellow and blue), and adjusted exposure, and finally crop a little.
Personally i do not like Photoshop, sometimes when photo is done with photoshop it is not the same as original picture. Adjusting contrast or exposure is the same as old method of film cameras, and B & W can be really very nice photos when done the " old fashion way". It let you look different way at the subject.

Regards

John

Hey harryhnc,

That is a very nice picture you got but as someone said the contrast is a bit bland on the black and white version. Personally I do use photoshop but if I can't be bothered opening it up I use a quick editing and photo viewer program called ACDSee Pro 2.5. I reccomend trying or buying this and using the edit mode and playing around with the exposure, levels and curves.

Here is the link to the website were a trial can be downloaded:
http://store.acdsee.com/store/acd/en...0/Currency.GBP

Hope I helped out in going in the right direction and good luck if you're going to use this help or not

im new like you. but i do really like ur shots of the barn. they'd look nice as a picture in anyones house. and the enhanced one that Wombat had done with the contrast and everything. does look great aswell. especially how it sort of darkens the right areas and bring out more of an older look to it.

but anyways ur shots are great in my eyes. very nice Harryhnc

Thumbs up

Thank you to both for your input and advice. I will download the software and give a try. It makes all the difference in the world having the "right tools" to work with.

Again, thank you

Harry
