Arrow Sun Valley, ID

Hi everyone (first post here ),
So, here's the deal. Over the winter break, I will be going to Sun Valley (up in Idaho, Sawtooth Mountain Range), like last year and the year before. The only difference is that this year, I will have my D40X with a tripod, remote, 18-55mm AF Nikkor lens, and 55-200 AF VR Nikkor lens. The past two years, I have either had the cold or flu while there, so this will be a rare opportunity to get some winter/snow/mountain/Christmas shots. Here's where you guys come in . I am trying to think ahead of time for ideas so I don't get there and stand cluelessly in the snow.

Here's some brain juice so far:
- The 18mm wide angle will be great for some panoramics of the mountain range...
- The 55-200 VR lens can somewhat double for macro capabilities, so closeups might be possible
- I might get some intense ski action shots on the slopes
- The white balance on the D40X is oookaayy.... good enough to double as a polarizer/warming filter
- There's not too much wildlife that is visible without wandering into the wilderness (not happening)
- I have a one year old Golden Retriever puppy, and this will be her first time in the snow, so I plan to take advantage of that.

Something that I am worried about is that the temperature is like 30 degrees F if you are lucky, and the camera isn't built to be under 30 for a long time.....but as long as I keep it in a backpack or something it should be okay.

Wow, that was longer than I thought it would be.

(that's what she said)

Thanks everyone,
