Default Black and White creek

I was out with the wife four wheeling, when I saw this little creek. It was snowing out so it made it a little fuzzy. But I feel it really add to the picture, more than hindered it. Let me know what you think of the black and white conversion, I’m still practicing with photo shop. So any suggestion on that or anything that stands out to you would be appreciated.

Romantic creek black and white

Camera: Nikon D60
Exposure: 0.25 sec (1/4)
Aperture: f/10
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 1/3 EV

I really like the color version best. The snow seems to stand out a little more. Great capture. I'd hang that one on the wall, with pride.

Thumbs up

They both are good, but I like the original colored picture best. The black and white almost looks like the aftermath of a wildfire. Isn't it nice to be able to take as many photos as you want nd play around with the in an editing program with no hugh film cost and development cost.

Since this is the technique section perhaps you might like to share with us how you acheived this image? were there any special conditions?
What made you want to shoot this particular place? Did you have a black and white image in mind when you saw it?
