Default Just curious

I'm fairly new at this..I have a Canon 350d and have been taking portrait and landscape shots.This one is just down the road from my house.I quite like it and would like to know what others think.

Looks like a pretty spot.

Shooting into the sun is difficult. In my view, doing so here led to a shot that's a bit washed out and that has not much detail in the rocks and trees. Next time, if you could put the sun anywhere but in front of you, the shot might have more detail and a bit more color.

A good thing to do is experiment. Go back to the same spot at differnt times during the day and take shots from different angles. See how they're different and which ones you like.
