Default Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica

Took this during a trip to Costa Rica in May. This is an active volcano and, weather permitting, at night you can see the lava flow down the side - awesome!

Since this is the technique area can you share with us how you came about this great image? What were the settings you used? Did you use a tripod? What, if any post processing did you do?

I also like the foreground. The pops of red really catch your eye.

I did some minor adjustments in Picasa but don;t remember exactly what I did - sorry. I believe I upped the contrast a bit and did some warming of the colors.

I should have kept a better record of my adjustments or done them in Lightroom, but I believe I have given you the main adjustments I did.
