Default Classic MN

My brother and I went out shooting last week around downtown Minneapolis . It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. We ended at the Walker Art Center's Sculpture Garden and I decided that I had to take the classic MN shot. It was one of the last photos of the night before the sun went down and if you look closely you can see the reflection of the sun and the tree line on the middle of the cherry. What do you all think? I haven't done any PP yet and will probably just lighten the shadows in the trees, but I'm open to any other suggestions as well. I'm new to PSE6 so any tips or pointers are welcome.

Now that's a shot. I like that you got the building in the background too, and that it was a building with a bit of style on its own.

Thank you! It's the Basilica of St. Mary. I actually use to work right behind it, so it's an area that I'm very familiar with.

I was actually thinking the same thing about the rotation. I also noticed that it's not as dark as I thought it was. I had originally posted when I was at my PC work and now that I'm at home on my mac it looks fine. Now I'm just not as sure about what else I need to do.

It looks a bit noisy, and when I checked flikr, it says you used ISO 1600 to get a shutter speed of 1/320. You had a focal length of about 50mm, so you could have gone down to about 1/60-1/80 and decreased the ISO so you get less noise. Now, you should probably de-noise it on your computer.

Otherwise, great composition and exposure .

Oh, and on a second thought, you could darken the sky as well.

Thank you for pointing that out Sunday. I just now remembered that I was playing around with the ISO for an earlier shot and forgot to set it back. I will be back in that area later this afternoon, so maybe I'll just go back and reshoot. The only problem is that I will be there around 3:30 rather than 7:30 when I was there last week.
