Default First pin hole photo

I built for myself a pin hole camera over the weekend. This is the first shot I've taken with it. For anybody that might know a little bit about them could you please tell me
1- Are the settings on my camera correct for such a shot.
2- Advise on how to get a more sharper image
3- Advise on any good web sites about the subject.
Please note i set the noise reduction on the camera, and focused the camera manually with a trial card to the back of the pin hole box. The exposure time about 16 min.

I can't tell you much about whether the settings are right, but the image looks good. How did you make the pin hole out of interest?

Interesting. Have you tried the technique of a body cap with the pinhole in it?

No i haven't , doe's it work the same way as the box. I'm still very new to this , but enjoy playing around. Plus it doesn't cost much experimenting around with these methods . You have just given me something else to try out.

It just involves putting the hole in the cap as far as I know. I looked into various pinhole methods a while ago, including a downloadable camera you could print out and make from card but I never got round to doing any of it. Google should help you out though.

Try this -
EDIT: A lot of people suggest making a bigger hole in the body cap, then covering it with a piece of foil and making the pinhole in the foil. This is to get a smaller hole with a sharper edge.

As a purist, I would not consider this a pin hole picture, as a lens was involved. However, It is a nice technique an one worth following up on. I can see some very good possibilities.

A pin hole will never be sharp because different colors focus at different places without corrections and pin hole offers no correction.

again nice work

I agree it's not a true pinhole picture but seems to give the same effect. I've never seen this method done before, it is quite an interesting way to do it though. And yes, pinhole will never be very sharp but having a hole that is very small with a clean edge helps the image quality a lot from what I've read. Also a huge depth of field can be achieved if done well.
