Default Glacier National Park

My family and I are leaving for Glacier on the 4th of July from Michigan. (I know!, I just bought some stock in Exxon) Anyway, anyone with advice. We are going out I90 through the Black Hills, Badlands, the Presidents, Cody and on through Yellowstone up to Glacier. 3 days there and back to Yellowstone for 2 more days before going to the Tetons.

We are following a similar route starting about July 11th, only we have to come 12 hours north first, from Texas. We will be near Glacier for 5 days. I would also love some tips for photographing in this area. So many beautiful National Parks and National Monuments to see.

Some awesome sights out there. We took a National Parks trip last year. I would say you will use your 18-135 lens the most. Wide angle for most of the parks. Enjoy!

I only have 2 suggestions and either one will work great for you.
1) Have multiple film cards (you'll need them)
2) Bring a laptop with a one terabyte external hard drive to store the pictures you'll be taking.

PLEASE post a link to a photo album upon your return. I miss that part of the country as it's mostly untouched by man. Thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing pictures of your voyage. Be safe and have fun!

Sounds like a great trip. I'd love to go on a trip like that. I'm sure you'll take hundreds of photographs. I hope you'll enjoy the trip as much as I think I would.

Thumbs up Just got back

Just got back from the trip you are taking. In 14 days took 750 pictures.
Try taking panoramic and hdr photos. Make sure you have a telephoto lens,
not all the animals are that close. Make sure you go on the hiking trails. some of the best waterfalls and views are off the main roads. When we were in Yellowstone the first week in June there was three days of snow.
There is no tv in Yellowstone or Glacier so if you have kids you'll need something to entertain them at night. If you have time, on the ride from Yellowstone to Glacier stop at the National Bison range. The views are worth it. Have a great time and make sure you have plenty of memory cards and an extra battery.
