Default soft sago.....

i shot two series of these today.......one batch this morning at 8am and another at almost 7 this evening......the morning shots had a ton of blues in them from the shadows and although, they got their way worked through editing, i simply wasn't happy with the noise that came up with an already soft set of images.....

this one is from this evening......still very soft because i was too lazy to step inside to get the tripod.....nice colors though and i didn't feel like i had to process it other than a vignette.....it's framed as it was in camera...

i think it's downfall is that, as a good friend told me, there's no real focul point....and yes, that it's a very soft image.....

so, tell me is it too soft to be a reasonably passable image or does it work with the subject and the limited color range?.....

any and all thoughts would be appreciated.....

peeperita, Welcome

A "subject" I believe could be the design element repetition, such as the three light edges of fronds here. Two smaller ones below help break up the long vertical look. The two yellow-green spines break up the overall green.

Did you add a vignette here? It's subtle if you did. Good work

thanks for your comments, jim...i did use a vignette on this shot because there didn't seem to be one solid place my eye would sit.....i thought it would help focus the piece...

as an aside, i kinda goofed up by placing this thread here instead of critique.....but, it sits in landscape technique discussion now....if it doesn't bother anyone, then here it will stay....

i am told i do have a technique when composing a shot......i tend to put my camera to my left eye, squint with my right, gape like a monkey with my mouth open, and click.....

thanks again...

I like it. It's particularly nice because of the black background.
