Default redwood cathedrial in california

this is a redwood grove that the mother tree died and the remaining trees are the 'kids' of the mother tree. it makes a cathedrial at the bottom.

figured i would take the looking up the tree thing and make it HDR since it was SOOOO dark.

what ya think ? to overdone ?

I think the point of view does a great job telling the story that goes along with this picture. The light is difficult to deal with, and HDR gave you nice blue sky while still keeping the trees in an OK exposure range. I would probably do a curves adjustment to add some more contrast, though, as the light looks almost flat on the tree trunks. Either way, a very nice shot!

I think Russ hit it on the nose, the exposure is a little flat. I love HDRs. Im starting to play with them more and more and I know its not always an easy task to get them to look perfect, luckily you had a really strong image.

Default hdr high dynamic range

take 3 shots at low/med/long exposure and merge them.

do a google search and you will get MORE info than you want:>

its fairly simple to do and sometimes looks cool or you can get a shot that you woudln't have otherwise been able to get.
