Default Newbie need tips to photograph buildings

I am studying at a city where there are so many old buildings made by the Deutch. I would love to take a good photograph of them but as a newbie, I need some tips on how to do that the correct way like, the angle I should take the photos, and so on.

I'm using Nokin D60 with the kit lens (18 - 55mm) and a tripod.

Hello and welcome.

Here are some general rules for photgraphing buildings.
-Tripod usually as must if shooting in the Golden hours of early morning/late afternoon to past sunset
-Compose larger in frame than you want final shot to be to leave room for cropping
-Take your time and think what you are trying to accomplish
-Use f8 for a good depth of field
- Use the self timer to reduce the camera shake
