Default After the storm

after-the-storm1j

In the Golden Gate Park, the morning after a bad storm. There were a lot of trees down.

This was something that I liked but it did not go over with others that well. What can I do next time to do this type of shot better.

Yes, I agree to pull back more. This could be a really good composition with more foreground showing and cropping out that dull sky. Placing your image more in line with the rule of thirds would also help bring interest to the image.

one other thing you might keep in mind is the rule of thirds. Altho it isnt set in stone, sometimes having your subject right in the middle can be distracting

thanks windrider, the other poster mentioned that too and I think I see it now for sure. I will work on that for sure. I can totally see how with the suggestions this would have been better.

Thanks again

Hey thanks for that. I have to go back to the park early in the morning when the lighting is nice, which also means no fog which is a crap shoot really. It is San Francisco after all.

Hope I can redo it, but I also fear that these trees have been cut now. When took the series that this is from, we were there before the park employees got there to clear em.

Thanks again all.

nice composition..

since you want to show the place after the storm... maybe it is better if the shot have more fallen trees on it rather than 1...
