Default Bridge shot

Hi,

I shot this over easter weekend, about an hour before sunset on a pretty grey day.

I'm reasonably pleased with the composition but I'd like some guidance on improving my post processing. Looking at this a few days after I worked on it I think it probably needs to be brighter.

I added quite a lot of contrast, some brightness, boosted the luminance of blues to bring out the sky a little more, and used a faint warming filter. I also used the unsharp mask to sharpen it, and add some more contrast.

Thanks

The River Lune

Hi Jay,
You have the start of some excellent subject matter. I'd be interested to know how you metered this shot as I feel that the overcast day coupled with a good bit of bright, overcast sky may have affected your exposure. As you indicated, it does need more shadow detail, with the risk of blowing out sky detail. If you have an opportunity to reshoot this scene, I might suggest an approach from more of an angle to the bridge while also varying the height from which the shot is taken (low and close to the water or from a much higher vantage point if available.) Thanks for sharing your shot with us.
