Hi and welcome to our forum!
I like the sillouette against the sky, perfect time to shoot. I think it could even be better with a little more of the beautiful sky and a little less of the darkness at the bottom of the picture. All the extra black tends to grab attention away from the sky.

I agree with Saralonde. Nice overall position, just would have been better in a few minutes after the sun set a little more.

Default Golden hour

I think they call this the golden hour, correct me if I'm wrong. Or is that a little earlier. I tend to prefer more detail inthe darks and risk losing the detail in the lights. But that's just me.
I miss Calgary, and the mountains. I was there back in 1980. I'd like to travel back sometime.

Hi beatles2 I'm also from Calgary. It's cool to see someone else here on the forum (Go Flames Go). I was wondering if you could post the exif data on your image. It might be just the site it was posted on, but it seems a little out of focus. Of course that might be on purpose, but it always helps to post the data. I've seem some very useful suggestion just from being able to see how the image was taken. I miss the mountains too, Booter, I get to see them everyday (weather permitting) and they taunt me for not going to see them more. Sigh.

I am very shy about my pictures (I think they all suck), so I don't really have any that I would like to share. I was actually planning on trying to take some panorama's this weekend, but the weather has changed ('natch) and it's going to snow. As soon as I get a decent picture, I'll post it for you. No, they don't stop for people crossing on Centre Street. Calgary's gotten a little faster and less considerate in the last couple of years. Unfortunately.
