Exclamation Sunset Time-Lapse Video ?

Hi, as part of my Photography course I need to create a time-lapse video using my SLR.

So was wondering if how many shots I would need to take to get the sunset. Like how many shots to take per 5-10 minutes.

I will be using a Canon 1000D camera and a tripod.

Thanks
Lauren

Depends..
Do you want a smooth looking video (ie hundreds of shots) or can it be more jerky where the transition is less smooth (less than hundreds)?

Also, do you know how to best set it up? Like whether you should be in manual (um, yes) or using a preset mod like AV (uh, no, read here where I gave some advice which I think will help)

I think one every 5 seconds could work. So that's 12 every minute so that would be 60-120 shots according to your timeframe. But since I assume you want to capture the WHOLE sunset, you're likely going to have to go into the 100s of shots.

Go to flickr, look up time lapse groups.. lots of videos there that will give you an idea of how many shots to take.
