Question Night cityscape tricks

Hi, I had to reset my account so now it looks like ive posted like twice Gerrrrr. anyway this seemed not to fit below, so I posted it here.

Tomorrow I'm going backpacking an angel island which is in the middle of San Francisco bay. As such, it has a great view of SF from the top.

Besides the normal, use a tripod, turn off IS, shoot RAW, use manual, minor lockup, don't get eatten by the racons, etc. Does anyone have any tips/tricks for shooting the skyline at night?

Thanx

Put the iso to 100 and dont use the fastest aperture an you'll get
nice star flare on lights. Also use the preview mode to cool the white balance manually so the street lights arnt all so sickly orange. You'll likely need to use bulb mode to get enough exposure time, and you'll need to experiment with the timing to get a good exposure. Take a stopwatch or cellphone to help but keep the screen light out of view or it'll screw up your shot.

Dress warm an use a remote. If there is water and alot of moonlight, you
MIght want to use a polarizer as well, but that is up to you.

Actually i just checked some of mine, 100 iso and f7.1 the exposure time was only 20seconds. It had nice flare, so you might not need bulb. Just use the 2 second delay if you do t have a remote.
