Recently, I've stumbled on this photographer on Flickr: Flickr: Sunrise@dawn ????'s Photostream
and, below majority of his/her images, he states No GND, No HDR, Black card technique. I have googled a bit about it, and it seems to be a technique of using a black sheet of paper or cardboard to cover the brighter areas of the frame during the exposure and then removing it just before the exposure ends. I am wondering how do they achieve this without it ruining the shot, without it being visible? How do you judge and time yourself to do it right? Has anyone of you ever used this technique or has some clear information about it? |

Thanks, among the links you posted, I've found this link to be most helpful: Hanjié's Blog: Black card photography Part I
It seems really simple. I have to try it. |
