Single and single will be fine...landscapes generally don't move much, and if they do it's not the best time to be taking photographs.

Landscape shooting is very different than anything else. Because you generally want EVERYTHING in focus, there are special techniques you need to learn.

Look up something called Hyperfocal distance.

Classic response! Although, if it's the end of the world, I might want to have my camera handy just so I can get some shots of it.

In landscape photography, when you shoot is more important than where you shoot.

Well, how do you think the camera focuses in other modes? The camera can only focus at one point - spot mode just lets you choose rather than letting the camera do it. Multi-point autofocus doesn't mean the camera focuses on multiple points at once.

The reason my answer involved the landscape moving is because both the settings you mentioned mainly deal with moving subjects. Continuous AF constantly refocuses so is good for moving subjects. Ditto for Dynamic and 3D modes. As the landscape remains stationary, you just want the camera to focus once, so single, spot AF is best.

As Osmosis suggests, have a look at the concept of hyperfocal distance, or Google 'beginner's landscape photography', and that should answer all your questions in one fell swoop.

True, but try finding a decent print shop open at half past the Apocalypse!
