I love this shot, although I really wish you were able to get this shot without the foreground, just the horse and the back ground would have made an AMAZING shot.

I agree with Miles. There is just to much int he foreground competing with the horse

I kind of like it the way it is. The way the branches kind of compose the horse. Without the branches, its just a horse in a field. The branches, to me, make it look like you were just walking through the woods, not knowing where you were when all of a sudden, as you got to the top of a hill.... you look through this window of branches to see a horse in a field! Makes me imagine that you are about to "step through" into a completely different type of terrain, like walking through a cedar forest into the completely different hardwoods.

I like your subject, the contrast, and that you worked hard to get the shot. I disagree that taking the shot without the branches in the foreground would make an amazing shot. It think it would be a rather plain shot, in my humble opinion. I like some branches in the foreground to frame the photo and add dimension, just not quite so many. Maybe try cropping out some of the foreground branches and see what you think. The horse is in the very center, which defies the rule of thirds, but that could be fixed with cropping as well.

I also like the idea of the branches and framing the shot. However, I would also try cropping to remove some the the branches. It makes the foreground a bit too busy and detracts from the main subject.

I like how the branches frame the horse.
