Default What is this in my photos????

I don't know if this is the right forum to post in.

What is this blue haze in some of my photos? Something to do with where the sun was coming through the trees or something????

On the left in the trees here:

And near the bench here:

Hrmmm... My photos often have small dots or red and blue in them, I'm pretty sure it's caused by dust in my lens.... but this is unusual...

It looks like it could be a reflection of some sort. Have you noticed it on any other photos?

I had that happen in a couple of mine the other day, when I posted this pic for the Monochrome assignment it disappeared, but here's the color version, you'll see the haze in the lower right.

my best guess is that it's a lens flare caused by the sun.....

I would guess it is lens flare but it is a pretty odd shape for it.... Did you have a filter on the lens? Did you have a lens hood on?

Yeah, that's what I thought, seems an odd shape.
Had a UV filter on, no lens hood.

That is probably what it is then next time something like that happens try taking the UV filter off. I know I got a odd shaped lens flare from my UV filter when I was shooting the lunar eclipse the past month. Taking the UV filter off fixed it tho.
