I like the sigma 10-20 it is a sharp super wide angle lens. It does have some lens distortion so if you dont like that look then I would stay away from it. If you want to see some shots with that lens check out my flickr page. Cost on the sigma is about $500.

You don't say what camera you have at the moment. The Sigma 10-20mm is a fantastic landscape photography lens. You could probably get that and a 50mm f/1.8 for your budget.
It really depends on what type of lens you currently use to be honest.

IT seems to me that your Tamron 18-250mm should do the trick. your gonna have compromises with that lens, but it should do the trick. if not i would go for the sigma 10-20 that RexK recommended. ive seen it recommended before by other photographers and its as wide as you can get (without the fisheyes!).
have fun shooting.

The Sigma 10-20mm is an excellent lens for landscape work and is well within your budget.

Now that I see the lenses that you already have it seems to me that you do not really need to get a new lens for landscape. You have a ton of wide angle lenses already. The 10-17mm will work for landscape as well as the 18-250 or the 18-55.
What I would do is get some filters. A ND grad is a must have for landscape photogs and a CP filter and a blue-n-gold filter (blue and yellow) Conkin makes one but if you want better optics go with the one that sing-ray makes unfortunately I dont think the other filter manufacturers make this filter it is a shame cause it really is a awsome little filter for landscape photogs. But I am not familiar with the quality of the 10-17mm lens that you have so maybe you might want to get a sigma 10-20.... depends on if you are happy with the 10-17 or not. The sigma 10-20 really is a great lens but it really doesn't add much to your existing kit.

I was looking forward to reply after reading your first post, and was almost disappointed to see that everyone else had allready suggested just that lens - Sigma 10-20 mm :P It is just brilliant and very sharp. Great for landscape, architecture and portrait of people you don't like
Get all the nasty details in their face, together with a super-sized nose and tiny body.

lol you don't NEED another lens after looking at what you already own.
Stop spending money on lenses and get out there taking shots! ![]() And yeah - filters are a must!
