Default Otemanu Bora Bora

Here's a shot of the back side of Bora Bora from a friends property. I love this scene, and would love to wake up being able to look at this every morning.

Hi! That's a beautiful topline along the rock! What direction is the rock facing? I would shoot it in different sun angles or cloud covers. That rock is awesome!

maheanuu,

Agreeing with wyldthang, bright green foliage against the rockface would give more life to photo, or a dramatic rain storm in background. Your friend chose a grand place to live! Is land left and right also rocky?

I was shooting facing almost due north when I shot this, and we were about an hour away from sunset.. When I am home, I manage to get over to Bora Bora about every other week and will try to spend a couple of days shooting this view with better light... I am planning on going home in either July or August this year, and having family on almost every island allows me a lot more freedom of movement without the expenses...

The "Rock" monolith is named O'Temanu and has never been climbed.

I am going to include here another shot of the mountains this time from the west side of the island, south of the village of Vaitape so that you might get a better idea of the grandeur of the island...
