These images were taken during a holiday in Hawaii October 2005. We were cruising around the islands on the "Pride of America" and during our stop over on Maui, I joined an early morning (3.00am) shore party for a tour to Haleakala, a nearby volcano to see the sunrise. This would be my most memorable moment of the entire trip. Shots taken with my old Fuji S7000 in jpg mode (before I knew better) so apologies for the slight grain.
![]() 1. In this shot I held the camera over my head to shoot over the crowd, of course I've since straightend things up a little We were well above the clouds here as you can see (appx 9740ft above sea level.)![]() 2. Taken a few moments later, here I managed to get up a bit higher and crop out the crowd. ![]() 3. And finally a shot taken well back behind the crowd, I was trying to sillouette them against the brightening sky and clouds.
