Strobist - strobe to the left of the shot focused on the stone in the foreground, set to 1/2.

Not the best day to shoot anything, as it was overcast and really flat light. Got the strobe out to try and get something out of nothing.

One day I will return.

I love the shot - but is the horizon a bit tilted on it? Would it help to straighten it, or does it throw things off a bit?

Looks nice...I didn't think the horizon was tilted, I thought there were hills in the background.

Hi Ginger pixie..
I really like the warmth of this shot. I also dont think the horizon is wrong they are hills in the background. The one thing i find with this shot is the shadow from the large rock, having never used a strobe, Is it from that, It just seems to be a little to long, of course I may be wrong, I usally am.
I like to see shot from the UK I left way back in 67 so its nice to see good shots from the old Dart

Thanks. I think the wide angle lens combined with the hills might make it appear tilted, but it isn't.

A few rays of the sun escaped the cloud cover for a second, which is where the shadow comes in (it was late in the afternoon). the strobe is illuminating the stone from a different angle, so couldn't have contributed to the shadow (and wasn't powered high enough to cause that amount of shadow).

Glad I reminded you of home
