Out of all the things I have photographed over the years, landscapes seem to be the most difficult for me. The first one I'm going to post is I think my best landscape to date. I took it summer of 2009 when I was in Maroon Bells. The lighting was amazing. No edits. Please critique on composition, color, saturation and contrast. Anything else that comes to mind is welcome. Please be as brutal as you want

I would try to clone out the jet contrails in the sky. That caught my attention right away. Lines draw you in and can either make or break a shot.

Thanks for the comments everyone
![]() #2 I took this shot in Costa Mesa in December on the beach at sun set. (Obviously) I'm wondering if the colors are too bright and saturated. I only changed the levels a little bit for editing. But yes, feedback please! Again, brutal is welcome. ![]() Larger view: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4019/...d4a09ca0_b.jpg Camera: Canon EOS REBEL T1i Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100) Aperture: f/8.0 Focal Length: 55 mm ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Off, Did not fire |

I agree that the left side of the image looks a bit too claustrophobic to really give you the feel of grandeur that the Maroon Bells have to offer.
