Shot a few years ago and just converted to B&W using photoshop. Used an older Canon Powershot (pretty portable for a hike in the mountains)... Any critique would be appreciated... Especially on the black and white.... Thanks!

Nice conversion in my opinion. Good contrast. Nice depth too. Maybe just a slight increase in the black point? Not much!
Ansel would be proud!

I say unto you: hot diggity. That's a sweet photo. Well composed -- storng subject, nice foreground and dramatic clouds. Great exposure.
The B&W conversion is perhaps a little on the grey side -- you might bump up the contrast a little (curves or levels), but just a little bit at most. Very nice!

I agree with the two above, give it more of a pure black and white. The first thing I thought when I saw this photo was dither!
I can delete these (just let me know), but used the indexed color box under mode and played with them... ![]()

Hey thanks for the input and encouragement! I will spend a bit more time playing with the black/white levels and contrast to see what comes... That dithering is awesome looking... Nice stippling effect!
