Default Sooc Sunrise

Was up early enough for the sunrise and had a perfect vantage point from the roof of our parking garage. Please let me know what you think about composition with the buildings in the foreground, and also about exposure (I am new to the manual mode, just got my dslr about a couple weeks ago!) Check out my flickr for the full set of sunrise pics. Thanks!

you exposed beautifully for a nice dramatic sky....love the deep saturated swirls of color there......although, the buildings aren't doing anything for me....they're low in the field and seem to blend in too much with the ground....they are little more than "bumps" in that black....

I totally agree with Peeperita. Beautifull shot.

I like the buildings, I think they add a nice silhouette to the photo. Also checked out your photostream - in my opinion you're on track with sunsets.

Would you recommend having just the picture of the sky, or having the buildings take up more of the frame?

More buildings... I want to see full silhouettes of the houses, church, whatever. Great sunrise!!! Now just give a some beautiful, deep, black building silhouettes.

Silhouettes are great as long as they can add to the shot, be recognizable and are not just a big blob of empty space.

i think the sky should be grounded with something.....i might have looked for a different perspective.....one that offered more of the outline of the buildings away from the ground.....closer, perhaps?....
