Nice pics. You may want to check out the rules for the Critique section - only one photo per thread.

Hey I like the shot. I love the fiery sky and how you found a tree to shoot that thru.Did you do any processing with it afterwords or is that straight from the camera ? Also they are gonna want your file data, ISO,Sspeed, apeture etc.

I edited this to tell you, I would also crop the bottom of the shot some. Too much black, nothing is going on there so why have that much ?

Also did you use a tripod ? Looking at the big pic on your flicker, the tree looks a little out of focus, I think if we can see your data file we should be able to get a clearer pic of what was going on.

Nice idea, the sky looks lovely but I'd agree with dblightsey about cropping some of the black out. Check out the rule of thirds if you haven't already.
Also plenty more techinque etc. in the Digital Photography Techniques section

Welcome to DPS,

This is a great start, you have a wonderfull eye for things that are nice and this sky is fabulous. The three silhouette is just amazing, i would have loved this shot to be mine apart forom the tons of negative space at the bottom that does not add to the shot.

no problem. Here is a good place to seek help.Im constantly learning.

Here is your shot settings.

Camera: Nikon D3000
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Auto, Fired, Return detected

I found it by clicking on your pic. That takes me to your flickr pic. down on the right you will see Additional Info click here. It is under your D3000. When you click it the info above will be thereon the right. They dont need file size etc. just those will suffice. Have fun and thanks for sharing.

Try cropping a 1/4 of the bottom. The tree and sky is beautiful; use the ground to just provide a foundation for your picture.
