Here's the photo of tea gardens of Munnar in kerala India. It was taken around 1 pm with my Nikon P90 set in landscape mode. Would appreciate if you can provide your feedback on lighting/compostion and tips to improve the same.

This is a great subject. If you have regular access there, definitely go and experiment some and see what you can come up with, there's a lot going on there.

So, the first thing I notice is something smudgy/blurry just to the right of the center of the frame. Maybe something on the lens, figure that out.

I think the exposure is good. The lighting is not excellent, but that could be due to time of day. You might get excellent photos at "golden hour" there.

What you need to pay attention to here is grouping and also leading lines. When we look at something like these separated trees, are are going to naturally try to group them together. So I see a group on the right, and a group on the left, this provides good framing. Then there are a few trees scattered around, which can be distracting. If you can find an angle that groups the trees discreetly, that would be awesome.

There is also a line of trees leading from the bottom right corner to the center of the frame. This is great! It draws the eye. But there is not a lot of balance here, on the left side.

You also have a line across the middle of the frame, and one coming down to meet it at the left but... the intersection is cropped out. Might just be me, but that's a little distracting. I'd like to see those lines meet in the frame.

Interesting subject, this is not a bad photo by any means (aside from the smudge), keep working at it!

Thanks for the suggestions. That was indeed helpful. The place is full of beautiful locations and would be an eye candy to photographers. I would definitely want to go there again and experiment more. I am not a professional photographer but my love for travelling and taking photographs would draw me there.

The file format was JPEG.
I don't remember the exact settings. This picture was taken some time back last year. I never used to pay attention to the settings before. Will ensure that from now on i will note down the other technical details as well.

If you still have the file on your computer you should be able to right-click on it and then see the EXIF information under Properties. The primary information most people will look for is aperture, shutter, ISO, Flash information, White Balance.

Tried looking for EXIF info under properties. It doesn't give anything except the file format which is JPEG.
