Default Louisiana Capital Building

Hello, I am new to the site and like what I see. The critique section I enjoy to me there is no better way to learn than to get multiple opinions. I am very new to photography in this capacity but I am enjoying the learning process. This is a shot I took of the Louisiana Capitol Building in downtown Baton Rouge.

I am not looking for anything in particular. I am here to hear all advice good or bad.

Appeture Value: f/14.0
ISO:800

I like the composition. I like the contrast of the organic lines of tree and cloud on the right and the straight lines of the man-made structure on the left. My personal preference is to correct perspective distortion, so I'd try to manipulate the image to get the building the same width along its face. A bit of polarizer when taking the shot to deepen the blue of the sky, too.

I find that the angle between the three and the building guives an illusion that the building is slanted so i would try to correct the perspective. I also think the colors of the shot are a bit faded or gray, i like a bit more vibrant greens and blue sky.

The composition is good, but I don't usually like protrait orientation for this type of shot.

As others have mentioned, the colors are a bit dull.

There's a little too much space at the top, and the building does seem a little tilted to the left. This could be lens distortion or you might just need to rotate the photo clockwise a bit. That kit lens seems to show the least distortion around 40mm or so.

I like how the shape of the clouds mirrors the shape of the tree, nice eye with that.

Thank you guys and or gals for your replies so far. I do appreaciate all comments some of those things are something I haven't thought of.

One question as far as correcting some of the color of the trees and such in photoshop what is the quickest way in selecting the trees and changing the colors? It just seems that there has to be a quicker way when doing objects such as trees or sky lines with trees on them.
