Through the tree

Hi, this is my first time putting up a photo for critique.

I'm interested in people's thoughts regarding colour and detail. Should I try for more orange in the sun, and/or bring out some detail in the tree?

I took this yesterday on my first time out and about taking photos with my new camera.

I'm very new to all of this, but please let me know your thoughts.

Hi, and welcome to DPS.
You could try posting another version with the ideas you've had for comparison, but I like this shot how it is. The deep black silhouette contrasts well with the bright white, I'm not sure if an orange light would improve it. As for detail in the tree, unless it's a particulalrly interesting tree I don't see what it would add. Those are just my preferences!
