Default Scottish Loch

Critique welcomed to new photographer. I think this is a great shot (for me) but would appreciate feedback on lighting and composition as I suspect there's many improvements I can make.

Shot is of Loch Ewe on the West Coast of Scotland. Nov 09.

Nikon D70 with 18-70mm kit lens at f/10, 1/320, ISO 400. Cropped and B&W applied in iPhoto.

Ross-shire, Scotland

Thanks!

HI , I'm new to this, but it seems to me you should try to crop out the tree on the left because my eyes keep going there and looking for more. That way you still give the since of size to the loch. I do like the clouds and reflection of this photo.

Thanks Bearcat. I do quite like the tree but also agree that it's perhaps distracting. I am not whether to crop or perhaps PS it out. 2nd option seems a possibility as it would keep the composition better, with the house still sat on the 3rd.

I have an experiment!

Glad you like the reflection and sky and thanks for the feedback. Enjoy DPS!
