Smile Snowing in London Chinatown at Night

Quote:
Camera: Nikon D90
Lens: 50mm ƒ1.4
Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Unfortunately I did not have a lot of time. So this was a quick shot.

Ultimately, I am very disappointed by my shutter speed. If I had made it faster, I could of caught the fact it was actually snowing at the time. What else could I have done better?

(This is NOT HDR, not even subtle HDR, as some has asked)

I am not sure what you could have done better to improve it. Sorry no help, but I would like to say how great I think it is. You've really captured a really nice feel to it. I truly love it.

I like the shot, but it seems a little over-sharpened???

Overall though, good shot and the reflections are lovely.

you stated you didn't have much time to get this shot, but it would have been nice to have flash on the couple so you could see them (if you had more time to arrange the shot)

I tend to sharpen my photos a lot so I get that.

The couple wasn't arranged or anything, they just happened to be passing so I was very lucky in that sense.

I like the sharpness as well as the couple entering the frame in shadow.

I think there's enough in the shot to suggest the weather. Around certain lights, you can see snow falling. And the wet pavement, (an old cinematography trick to make a night street scene look better), adds to the effect. I like the human element of the couple. I think the way they are in contrast, darkened, almost silhouetted against the light and colors of the rest of the scene, makes it more interesting. I found myself looking at this for awhile, checking out all the details. Very nice image.
