This was my first attempt at a sunset. Unfortunately I got out a little late so I didn't get as many shots as I wanted. I would like a critique on color and composition. I wasn't sure how to place the factory, but I was limited by the angle I could get to, as you can see I'm at a distance. What could I do to improve the shot? What/How could I improve the color overall? I would love to have any suggestions you might offer, related to these questions or anything else. Thank you for your time.

i think the composition is generally pretty good. you have done the right thing by exposing for the sun and letting the foreground become a silhouette.
improvements? I would like to see it zoomed in a little more or perhaps just chop the top and bottom areas off to make it a panorama style shot. this would really bring attention to the nice colours of the sunset

Beautifull sky and colors but there is too much negative space at the bottom that adds nothing to the shot. I would have placed the camera looking a bit higher to capture more sky and less silhouette, also placing the sun and center of attention on the 1/3 botom line.

Great shot! I have too agree with the other critics on getting rid of the black area in the bottom. |
