Default Merry Go Round

Zoo Lights 2

I'm thinking about entering this in a contest. Is there anything I can do to imrpove the picture? It was taken in Raw. I worked with the temperature control, but it didn't improve it much. Any suggestions??

Canon Digital Rebel xti.

Tamarron 28 mm lens,

1/2 second exposure.

The level is off. The merry go round is tilted to the right, but the guy is straight up and down. I realize this may be exactly from the perspective and angle that you took it, but it feels off balance.

I would try adjusting the level so the merry go round is level, and the dude is slightly leaning. Sometimes it is easier for us to accept a slouch from a person than a tilted object. It might not work...but it might be better. Only one way to know for sure...

Otherwise, I think it's a good shot...

I played with the photo in Lightroom and really had to crank down the temperature. I also played with the HSL in LR and got some pretty good results. HTH!

This is a great shot. Symmetry doesn't have to be perfect; in fact, it's sometimes better if it isn't. You captures some great movement while your subject (the man) is well anchored to the center point of the merry-go-round. Best of luck with this shot in the contest.

I really like this shot - perfect combination of blur etc. Actually the light and blur create some wonderfully interesting patterns and shapes to stimulate the eye.

As for being slightly off balance - why does photography have to be 'unrealistically perfect'??? It's fine as it is...

Because the human brain craves symmetry and balance lol! And while I would like to see it straightened too, the biggest thing is the temp...too yellow green for me. Nice capture though, good luck!

Exactly! And that's why not having them in a shot creates a more interesting effect.

i think this is a great shot...i think having an object slightly unleveled adds character to a photo.

Default Nice shot

I like it. Lots of great detail in the merry go round. Kudos for the great shot.

Exposure level is great. Symmetry is overrated.

Good Luck
