Default Lewes-Rehoboth Canal at sunset

I'd like to get some feedback on the composition of this photo I took at sunset. What do you think of the cropping and play of the light on the buildings?

I did some basic post-processing using Lightroom - mainly to enhance the contrast between the orange of the sun and the sky and water approaching black.

Thanks!
Nate.

I think the cropping works well and is a perfect example of breaking the "rule" that says to never place the horizon in the centre. Is it tilted slightly down to the right though?

Excellent image. I love the reflections and the lighting. I also can't decide if it's not level, or just heavy on the right side. I would also like to see a version with less vignette, and perhaps croping it in on the top and bottom.

I really like this photo and think it has a lot of potential. I do however think the vignetting takes away from the photo. It also makes it look to dark. I would love to see this picture with out it.

I love this scene! The image colors are great. With so much sky and water, I feel the impact of the scene gets lost and my eye is confused whether to look up or down. I think this would be a much stronger image if the uninteresting portion of the sky were cropped off just above the clouds and electrical pole. With this suggested crop the ripples in the water at the foreground lead the eye right into the photo to the buildings on the right and follow them to the buildings in the back and take the eye back around again. I too would remove the vignette. Nice capture tho.
