Default Winter Reflections

Took this picture on a beautiful wintery day. Was driving by this area on my way to town and noticed the reflection and had to take a pic. Please let me know what you think.

Great reflections on the water. This shot would be more powerful if you were able to position yourself in such a way that there was not a tree on the foreground shore. It's a distracting element.

I like the way the stream moves across the image at a diagonal. This is good. My biggest issue is the pic is divided up pretty much across the middle with the reflection and subject competing for the viewers attention. I would pick either one and put the other on 1/3 of the image. For instance if you want to focus on the reflection then move the reflection up so that the diagonal cuts across the upper third as opposed to cutting across the middle of the photo. This is just my personal preference. The photo is excellent as it is.

Thanks, I was concerned about the tree. I tried to move back further and squat down but the way the creek was laid out, it was wider behind me where I was standing and I couldn't move back much further without taking a swim. I do see what you mean about the tree. Thanks.

Thank you, I will try to focus more on the subject at hand. I actually took a couple of other shots, in the future I will show both.

Default Winter Reflections: Recropped

Recropped the earlier picture to put the subject in better view. Please tell me what you think.

I like the cropped version better ... but I didn't dislike the original! Lovely photo.
