This is one of the few shots I have tried from my new Sony DSLR. This one was taken from the first floor balcony in the evening couple of hours before sunset. While it was bright enough, i liked it only after making it dark in the editor.
Have posted the original and the edited one. I am new to DSLR and a novice, so ready to take any criticism. As is: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_vs49Y40P-Fs/Sz...C00106.JPGSony A330 18-55mm lens f/10 1/80 sec. ISO 100 Edited: Last edited by peeperita; 12-26-2009 at 10:25 PM. Hello, and welcome to DPS!
Here's a question for you: what is the subject of this photo? Put another way, what is this photo about? Did you have something specific in mind? I think that editing the brightness makes the photo a bit more moody, but it still lacks something to catch (and keep) my attention. It's very important to know what you're intending to photograph, before you hit that button!

While the initial thought in my mind was to show the trees, one with full of leaves and other having lost all of it. But as you pointed out there is not one single subject to attract attention.
I felt it myself when I started editing the picture, as my attention got drawn towards highlighting the clouds rather than the trees. Appreciate the comment. |
