This was a photograph I took while going on a photowalk in my hometown.
![]() It was taken with a Nikon D40 w/ 55-200mm. I was really trying to capture the action as well as the moment of the water falling so do you think the exposure setting I used did it justice? Under/Over exposed? And how do you feel about the balance and composition of the photograph? Last edited by michaetb; 12-24-2009 at 05:20 PM. |

I like the exposure for the most part...it gives the image drama and keeps my attention on the water action with just a hint of the surroundings. However, I also am left with wondering where the water is coming from and why you feel that the water falling on that object (whatever it is) was significant enough to take the photo.

Water shots are tricky with focus. autofocus really has a hard time with water.. To me it just seems out of Focus.. could also be a slow shutter speed and you have some motion blur.
Also on the mid to top right there is a strange ghost image I also agree with the previous comments where the photo leaves me wondering more about what the object is then focusing on the water itself

I like it. The edge of the fountain creates a nice line for my eyes to follow, and the water droplets are dispersed nicely. This is an unusual photograph, but it works for me.
