Default Cold day at the lake

Any suggestions on how to make this a better shot?

Other than making the horizon horizontal, the only thing I'd ask for is color. Or making it a strong B&W

Hi Dean,

I agree with Bob. I would like to see the horizon straightened and more contrast to make it a 'stronger' black and white. Otherwise, I think that I would like to see a little more of the context--meaning I would like to see a little more space around the stump. Especially in the foreground. I think it is a little too tight.

I think it is a very interesting image, with a lot of potential.

I agree with the first two posts. I would also like to see the inside of that tree lit up a bit with some fill lighting or something.

I would have closed down (or up, ha!) the aperture to keep more of the image in focus. I would love to see the driftwood in focus, without losing too much of the focus in the wave.

That, and slightly more contrast to really push the black and white further to the limits.

Where did you take it? Beautiful spot.
