Default Sand shape improvements

Morning stroll on the beach and found this seaweed that had shaped the sand and I thought it made a interesting shape but I dont feel I captured what it offered.

How could I have improved on it compositionally? Unfortunately, I only got one shot of this, I should have played more.

I think you are right: it is a very interesting shape. S-curves are always nice.

For me, I don't like that the shadow is cut off on the right side. I would like to see the curve of the seaweed and the whole shadow that it casts. If I had taken this photo, I think that I would have shot it horizontally placing the seaweed on the left side with lots of empty sand on the right. Of course, I wasn't there, so I don't know if that shot would be possible.

The clipped off shadow bothered me as well. I should learn to grab several shots...
