Very nice affect with the water - beautiful scene. I think you're onto something with your question though. That one central rock is doing its best to foil your composition by drawing the eye right to it. Not only is it almost centred, it is right in line with the sun, creating a shadow. And to top it off, it looks like there is a lens flare right on it. If you can reshoot this with an eye to placing the rocks just right in the frame, you'll have a beauty.

To late for reshot. Your thoughts on doing a crop?

I really like that rock in the lower left and I wouldn't want to lose that softened water from the bottom. The top can't be cropped any more. So the only crop I can see would be from the right, cropping out about 1/3 of that foreground rock. That'll put that central rock off-centre. You'll have to try it and see if it improves on than the original.

Yes, I think it is. I find my eye noticing the interesting horizon rocks a lot more whereas with the original my eye was focused on the bottom half of the frame. What do you think?

I'm in agreement with you. I find now that with the crop it takes you through the scene more. What was cropped out really was nothing of interest anyway. Thanks for your input!
