Default Outdoor Xmas Photo

I took the following photo in an outdoor shopping center just after sunset. How do you feel about the composition of this photo? Used Canon Powershot S5 IS. Automatic Night Scene mode.

p.s. Sorry about posting this photo critique in the wrong forum. I don't know how to move the thread now that I've posted it.

Nice exposure. I would have preferred to be able to see the whole of the base of the tree though.

Thanks. Unfortunately the tree has a white fence going around the entire base of it.

I'd probably crop out the white lights on the right side of the picture... they're pretty distracting.Good job, though.

Crop out the white lights on the right of the picture and if you can retake it shift a bit to the left to include the entire base of the tree. Cutting it off the way you have is a little bit distracting. Even if it does have a fence around it.
