Default amature fall scene

hi there! this is my first post. about a year ago i bought a canon rebel xsi to take pictures of my kids without the dreaded P&S lag. about 6 months ago i really became quite interested in photography and have taken literally thousands of pictures. i am obviously an amature, and would like some friendly critiquing of this fall scene i took the other day. (my kids have grown accustomed to me pulling the car over to photograph something, hahaha)

should i crop out some of the more bare trees on the left? and should i photoshop the power lines out in the top right?
anyway, here is the pic
fall scene
Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/5.0
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

thanks for looking!

to me your composition and technique used are super! but u simply have missed the most wonderful time of autumn when there are still a lot of leaves on the trees in golden yellow colour. great shot btw and try again next year and i am sure u'll get an excellent photo

Great image. I love the shot from this low angle. I would have tried portrait orientation which would have solved your problems with the power lines and the sky on the right. Great job though.

thanks for all the feedback! i'm really enjoying this new hobby! i missed a lot of great foliage shots by not keeping my camera with me at all times. i surprisingy found it LESS frustrating to drag my camera bag along with the diaper bag, my purse, and whatever 900 toys my 4 year old wants to bring, than to not have the camera and miss something that would have made an astounding photo. i'm lucky to live on cape cod, where there is never a lack of beautiful scenery, and i am still hoping to find a canopy of leaves down a nature trail somewhere. there are still lots of yellow leaved trees around. i just really loved the leaves carpeting the road on this street.

I like the angle you have shot this at, I think it brings a nice aspect to the image.

This is good. I loved the shot. And if it's all red and orange, it would be awesome.

8/10

Nice shot and a good angle - I think I would have photoshoped the power lines. Are you shooting RAW or jpeg. I think if you shoot in RAW the option to adjust exposure etc would help tremendously

Angle is unnatural-trees in nature usually grow upright
